Springflowers & Ephemeral Pools

April 12th

Spring Wildflowers & Vernal Pools is a gentle, reflective nature walk that invites us to witness one of the forest's most beautiful seasonal moments.

In early spring, before the trees leaf out, sunlight reaches the forest floor and delicate wildflowers begin to emerge; trillium, trout lilies, spring beauty, and other woodland treasures. At the same time, vernal pools appear as rain and snowmelt gather in quiet low places, supporting the early life cycles of frogs, salamanders, and other small creatures.

This brief season reflects themes of emergence, fragility, and ephemeral beauty—life that appears quietly and lasts only a short time before the forest canopy closes above.

Participants are invited to move at their own pace, allowing space for quiet observation, awareness, and reflection.

No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to slow down.
